Follow me to the location development of a Siemens plant close to the former Berlin Wall. Already in 1990 it covered everything then known about "green" buildings. However, these things were not yet called "green".
The challenge was to turn this outdated former socialist factory into a high-tech site.
It started with the master plan which contained all future projects: the renovation of the red and the yellow brick buildings, the outdoor facilities and the first new "green" building.
With an interdisciplinary team of engineers and architects I managed to complete this first phase of construction within two years. As to the costs we performed a precision landing: We went 4.000,00 DM below the calculated budget of 75 million DM.
